SSRS Reports very slow and GL accounts are out of order

Posted on by 445

We have a new customer on GP2018 and when they try to use the GL Detail or Summary SSRS report, it is VERY slow.   Plus, we cannot figure out the order that the accounts are in in the pull-downs.  It is not by any segment, index or dex_row_ID.  But they need to be in account order so they can choose a proper range.  Even trying to click on the pull-down takes a couple minutes to get the list.  They have approx. 27,000 GL accounts, but we have worked with many customers with that many accounts and these reports were never this slow.

The SSRS AP trial balance is very quick as are other reports, just not financial SSRS reports.  It seems that maybe the new SSRS report packs that deploy with GP2018 may have an issue with how the financial report models are setup.

Any guidance is greatly appreciated!

The issue regarding the order of the account numbers appear to be an issue with one of the stored procedures the report parameter uses.  To fix this I modified the stored procedure Seeglsrsaccountlisting in the company database. I added the following syntax at the end of the procedure after the syntax "SELECT * FROM   #accountsegment" by adding "order by segmentlisting".  Therefore the new syntax should show as "SELECT * FROM   #accountsegment order by segmentlisting".
