Generate report containing actual data from metric

Good day,

License = Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0 Business Solution

My boss normally checks out Net Sales vs. Cost of Goods Sold for the Past 12 Months on the metric system available on GP and he also checks Sales Document Count for the Past 12 Months, but when i try to generate him a smartlist or a report based on the information displayed on the metric system of Net Sales vs. Cost of Goods Sold for the Past 12 Months and the values never are the same there is always a difference. Is there a way to press and click and the system will automatically generate a report of the information GP is using as reference.
