Microsoft Flow: Start an Approval

Hi,

I have an email address field in my new entity that can be an email address outside the organization (gmail, yahoo, etc.). My problem is I cannot use this email address field to populate Assigned To in Start an Approval flow. It keeps prompting me an error "Assigned To missing" eventhough it has a value. My assumption is that it requires an email address linked to a user in CRM.

We tried using the Send email with Options but this doesn't fit the requirement as we need the approval comments and we need to link the email to the record.

Are there any other ways to accomplish approval with same feature as "Start an Approval" flow?

    Hi PDCM,

    As far as I am aware, there is no way to add comments before selecting options with the "Send email with options" action, like you can with the “Start an approval” action. This could be a useful future feature.

    Thanks for your reply.

    We are actually using the Send email with Options at the moment because of the limitation.

    Is there a way we could apply comments and create a CRM email record from this?

    Hi PDCM,

    Try using the "Send email with options" action instead of the “Start an approval” action.

    The “Start an approval” action does not have any support for group email addresses.
