Hi all,
As I'm sitting here monitoring a data migration job from CRM 2011 to D365 Online, I have time to ponder about what can go wrong.
Our sales guys and gals live by their calendars and the appointments that sync from CRM. In prior updates I've done, the Outlook client was always creating duplicates. You'd migrate from 2011 to the new system on prem, and more often than not end up with a bunch of duplicate appointments because when you uninstall the Outlook client the CRM appointments stay on the calendar, and would sync back when you installed the 2016 version or whatever. It was a headache, but you didn't have to worry about missing an appointment.
But how does D365 Online and the new Outlook App behave with Server Side Sync? Do appointments that were migrated over sync back again to Outlook automatically, with a nice pretty "Tracked in Dynamics 365" category applied? Again I'm not worried about dupes - I'd almost welcome them. I'm more worried that future appointments won't show up at all, leaving someone in the field getting chewed out on a call for not being at the right place at the right time.
This is V9.1 BTW.
Thanks,
Rob
