Leads associated to an account

Hello guys,

I want to see in my LEAD form, the ACCOUNT associated to it.

Usually I select an Account, then in the options select LEADS (Lead Associated View) and add all existing leads that I want for the account. That's ok, but when I go to any of the associated leads, I see the Account in a field called "Partner", but not in my "Existing Account" field.

Why is this happening or how can I change that please?

Regards,

Raúl

    Hi Raul,

Is this a Customization you have done, because OOB there is no Associated View for Leads attached to the Account Entity.

I can see Opportunities, Contact and Cases though.

You cannot create a Lead from Account Form. This is basically to keep your Prospect Customer out of the Qualified Customer

Kindly post a screen for the same.

From Lead you have the option of defining your Existing Account. When you Qualify Lead the Opportunity will appear under the Associated View in the Account Form

    Hope that helps

    Thanks

    Thanks

    Raul,

When you are showing Lead Associated view on Account form, which relationship you are using?..I think you are using Account to Lead, Partners relationship , and that's why when you add lead for account, and open that lead.. it is showing account in Partner..

Instead of showing lead related records based on Partner relationship, if you use Parent Account for Lead relationship, then you will see required data.

    Show Lead Associated view  as

    openlead.PNG

    lead.PNG

    Hope this will help..

    Hi Raul,

There are two different Relationships between Account and Lead.

One is 1:N from Lead to Account, that is linked by field Existing Account or Parent Account.

Then this is the way you see Associated Lead from the Account.

Then another one is the other way around, 1:N Relationship from Lead to Account.

That is linked by OriginatingLead id field, like once you Qualify a Lead, then it will become your new Account if not linked to any Existing Account, then you will see the Originating Lead Id there.

Then if you have another field to Account in one of your associated Lead, it seems you have another one additional relationship 1:N From Account to Lead.

I suspect you have 2 relationship now from Account to Lead.

To check you can go to the customization --> Entities --> Account --> Relationship, 1:N Relationship and find if you have more than 2 relationship from Account to Lead with related entity = Lead and the field display name = "Partner".

Then, the relationship you chose from Account to Associated Lead is the relationship between those entities through Partner field, not Existing Account (that I shown in first picture).

So, I suspect you can have 2 Associated View to the Lead, one is using "Partner" and other one is using "Existing Account".

I hope this explanation can help you, Raul.

    Thank you.

    1. At Accounts I browse to LEADS

    Accounts_2D00_Leads2.png

    2. There I add Existing Lead

    Leads.png

    3. At Lead, the account is associated as a Partner not as Existing Account.

    Raul,

Yes your relationship there is Account to Lead from Partner field.

Once you click the 'Add Existing' then open it, the only field that will be auto-populated is only Partner, that is by design. I thought you are performing another way, not using Add Existing.

You can only fill the Existing Account field if only for CREATE A NEW Lead, not add existing.

But, before that you need to make sure that you have added this mapping from Account to lead (through Partner)

    leadworkflwo3.png

Result when you CREATE NEW LEAD from it.

    leadworkflworesult.png

To make the existing Lead also have the same thing, it cannot be achieved using Mapping. Mapping wont work for existing Lead without opening the create new form.

The only way is using workflow or plugin.

Okay, if using Workflow, I can guide you.

    1. Create a new workflow on the Lead entity, (if possible you can use Real Time Workflow)

    2. Event: On Field change - Partner

    3. Action Step:

Update the existing account field set value to the Partner field

*Find your Parent Account Lead field then set to Partner

    Save and Activate it.

    Here is the result:

Go to Account -> Lead, Add Existing Lead record

    Then open the lead.

Hope this can help you, Raul!

    Thank you.

When you are showing Leads on Navigation Menu for account.. those are based on Lead-->Account(Partner) relationship..

It look like you created custom relationship between Lead and Account(partner).

If you want to tie up with Existing account when adding lead from associated view with existing relationship.. then you need to write one real time workflow.. which will copy partner information from partner to Existing account..

    Hi guys,

I Have this test lead and set its account like this:

    7220.Advanced-find.png

Then I've checked using an Advanced find and the "Parent Account for lead" has the related account:

    sub_2D00_grid.png

Then the Account Form has a sub-grid with all set to show the related leads like this:

    4011.Account.png

But no, it won't show it :(

    Hi Raul,

Change the Default View, do not use My Open Lead

Because you have qualified this Lead, right?

So it means that the status is no more Open...

In the Subgrid Property, datasource, change the Default View to All Leads or All Closed Leads, or create new one without any filter.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks.

    Hi Aileen,

No, even If I use "all open leads" or "all leads", it won't show anything.

The leads are not qualified, but we try to associate them to an existing account.

    Thanks for your help!

    Regards,

    Raúl

    Hi Raul,

The Leads need to be created from within the Account Record for them to appear in the Leads Sub Grid.

Leads which are created out of the Account Record (Parent) won't appear in the Sub Grid, even if you set the Existing Account.

    Hope that helps

    Thanks
