The Dynamics GP end user license agreement says the following: "You may make multiple copies of the software for backup, development and testing purposes, so long as such copies are not used in production and the development is for your internal use only. Your backup copies may be hosted by a third party on your behalf." GP partners can access the EULA here: mbs.microsoft.com/.../Dynamics_SLT

The license is intended to be installed once in production per company. If it is just for testing you are fine. There is also a free 90 day evaluation copy you can download.

    Hi Joni,

Just about everyone has a 'test' environment that is not used for production. Hopefully someone can give you the 'for sure' answer, but I can't imagine them expecting you to buy a separate license for testing. I've been wrong before though on things that seemed crystal clear to me.

    Kind regards,

    leslie

    Hi Joni,

I can speak to the technical issue. You most certainly can install gp on your laptop with no issue. You'll need SQL, of course.

The legal stuff, we'll need to wait for the experts on licensing.

    leslie
