grommet,
If the receipt is less than 4 digits, most scanners are ignore it. It usually can be changed in the scanner's setup.
i dint think you followed me. baracode is generated by RMS, and are scanners read all other baracodes fine
If the receipt number is 999 or less, most scanners out of the box will not read it.
If the receipt number is greater than 999, they will.
A simple test, create a new item with a 3 digit Item number, print a label and see if it scans. If it doesn't increase the item number to 4 digits and scan again OR check the manual of the scanner OR call the manufacturer of the scanner and ask them.
i think you refer to the lable printer. i refer to the till reciepts this baracode is generated by RMS and is printed on every transaction reciept.
OK, lets try baby steps.
Print a receipt, what is the receipt number?
If the receipt number is less than 999, most scanners will not read it.
If the receipt number is greater than 1000, the scanner should read it.
What is the make and model of the scanner?
here is a reciept that you can even print and try and scan it

i believe it to be the astrix * at each end of the number causing the problem???
has anybody else got this problem or got a solution
The barcode being scanned may not be sharp enough. Here is a barcode generator that exports high quality barcode images.
