Dimension Values of components in Production Order default from Production Order header

Posted on by 45

Good Day Everyone

I have setup 3 different Dimension Codes and setup Default Dimension Values for these dimensions on the Item cards for all Items with the value posting of "Same Code" (Item Divsion/Item Cat/Item SubCat)

When creating Sales Orders the Dimension Values correctly default to the Lines items for the above mentioned dimensions.

However when creating a Production Order directly from a Sales Order line which has a "Make To Order" Production setup, The Production Order creates correctly however the Production Order Header dimension values for above mentioned dimensions, the dimension values default from the Finished Good on the Sales Line item and as a result the component items all inherit the Dimension Values from the Finished Good Item instead of from their Item Cards.

This creates a problem as the Production Journal is then incorrect and cannot be posted unless the Item Division/Item Cat/Item SubCat Dimension Code values are manually adjusted to the correct values.

Has anyone encountered this issue before - see below screenshots.

I need a solution as it isn't viable to expect the user to manually update those Dimension Values of the Components on the Production Journal for every transaction.

Thanks in Advance!

Ivan

RE: Dimension Values of components in Production Order default from Production Order header

    Hi

check the dimension value on the customer card for that same customer on the sales order.
I know there are times  dimension at the header level will replace the dimension on the lines, in this case, production header dimension value is replacing the line dimension value.

Try and see is u can generate the production header from the sales Oder FIRST and then production lines from sales lines SECOND.

    good luck
