Options for Public-Facing Portal in Dynamics 365 Online for Government

Hello!

I've been doing some research into how to enable a self-service, public-facing portal for our Dynamics 365 Online for Government instance and just found out that the built-in Dynamics portal isn't offered for the Government cloud. I'm finding some 3rd party offerings that are either out of support or soon going to be unsupported (like ADX Studio). Is there another 3rd party portal offering that anyone has found to allow public visitors to submit information through some sort of customizable website if the usual Dynamics portal isn't available, beyond doing something completely custom? Any thoughts you have would be awesome, thanks!

Tim

You might want to look at the Portal Connector: www.crmportalconnector.com

From what I understand the ADX Portal is available only on special request which makes me a bit nervous about using it for any long-term production site. Because I'm using the Government version of CRM there are apparently some features that don't quite make it over from the Commercial side. Is there a version of ADX Studio that will be supported long term?

I actually just found that, thanks! Unfortunately we don't have any experience in that CMS so I don't think we'll be able to use it for too much (we run Drupal and WordPress) but I'll definitely keep that one on deck in case that changes.

If you're used to WordPress, there are CRM/Wordpress plugins like so: wordpress.org/.../integration-dynamics

    zapier.com/.../wordpress

Hi Tim, Dynamics 365 portals is actually available in the US government cloud with Microsoft, we actually have a number of different clients using portals in that data center.

Another option if your interested is the new open source portals that Microsoft will be releasing in the next few weeks.  It is exactly the same version as online portals currently, but will only be a one-time release and will not be supported directly by Microsoft.  Partners like the one I work for (Adoxio) will be taking that version and releasing it themselves as well as fully supporting it.  You can read more about what we are calling xRM Portals Community Edition here -https://www.adoxio.com/xRM-Portals-Community-Edition/

You can also read understand your portal options and at the bottom their is a webinar that will walk you through the same information and talk about upgrading if you are an existing customer.

Thanks Colin! That's actually really good to hear, Microsoft's feature list seemed to say that it didn't (hence my confusion!). Did you have to do anything special to get that activated for your government clients? We've checked the Dynamics admin portal and don't see another solution to activate nor anything under the Application tab, I'm wondering if there's another license we have to buy for that but we've been told up to this point that we can get one portal for free and then just pay a nominal fee for more.

The portal add-on should be available under the Office 365 billing section to add additional ones.  You should have a included portal provided you are on Dynamics 365 Plan 1 SKU.  If you are on an old CRM Professional SKU still then that would explain why it is MIA.  You should be able to open a support request and get them to manually add the add-on option for you.

That links seems to be referencing CRM 2016 Update 1 which it would not have been available for right at release, but it is definitely now available.

This is exactly what I needed, thanks so much! We are working on getting this resolve know as we did have the old version of this license. Thanks!
