Posting classes in AX 2012

Hi All,

As per my knowledge "PurchFormLetter_ classes called when the Purchase order is getting created, and PurchPurchOrderJournalCreate class called while posting purchase order, is my understanding correct or not.

I browses many links some are saying "PurchFormLetter_ classes will get called while posting.

Is there is a document or link available where we can see all posting classes available in AX for different processes like Purchase order, sales order or General Journal..etc

Please advise us.

Regards,

Akbar

    Hi Akbarpasha,

PurchFormLetter_  class for interacting with PurchEditLines form.

PurchPurchOrderJournalCreate class for creating journal data.

You can easily verify your assumption by using a debugger. You'll see that your first statement isn't correct - PurchFormLetter_ classes are not used when creating orders; they're used for posting as well (e.g. PurchFormLetter_Invoice for purchase invoice posting).

You can find details in Using the Refactored Formletter Framework (White paper).

    Hi Akbar,

Please take a look at link below:

I think you should identify what you want to do and then focus on that area, rather than having repository of what classes are used for which functions. I don't think any standard documentation exists, application is too big overall. See below a quick search on form letter class... it returned so many objects.. we may never used most of them during implementation. It's from D365 but you can also search AX2012 AOT to get class names. If you are just exploring, try to search AOT and then search for that specific class to see what it may be doing.

SalesFormLetter - Sales - Pick... invoice

    PurchFormLetter - Purchasing
