Permissions For Deploying Plugins

Hi All,

I am completely new to Dynamics 365 online so this might be the easiest question to answer for some people on here

One of Our new Dynamics Devs in my company is looking access to our sandbox environment to deploy plugins before pushing them to Production. He is using the Plugin Registration Tool, When he logs with his office365 creds in he sees only 2 environments (Production and Default) and not Sandbox. When I login I can see all 3 environments (As pictured below)

I work on the infrastructure team so I have full Global admin rights on our O365 Tenant so I imagine that's why I can see everything, but stopping short of giving our Dev the same permissions as me what permission do I give them and where do I apply it?

I cant seem to find it anywhere in the Dynamics 365 admin Centre but maybe I'm just being dumb.

    Hi AndyDev,

Dynamics 365 online plugins must run in the sandbox (isolation mode). For plugins registered in the sandbox (isolation mode), the system user account under which the plugin is being registered must have the System Administrator role.

    Hi,

Ensure that the organization which are not appearing for the user, in these organization user has system customizer/ system administrator role.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi AndyDev,

For sandbox access for plugin registration you have to assign "System Administrator Role" to your Dev for that please follow these steps.

These settings can be found in the Power Platform Admin center by going to Environments > [select an environment] > Settings > User's + permissions > Users.

1: In the list, select the user or users that you want to assign a security role to.

    2: Select Manage Roles.

3: Only the security roles available for that user's business unit are displayed.

In the Manage User Roles dialog box, select the security role or roles you want for the user or users, and then select OK.

or more information please visit this link:

    docs.microsoft.com/.../create-users-assign-online-security-roles

    Hope it helps :).

Well this one was strange, I added the system administrator role into the users account as suggested and he could still not see the sandbox.

Got the user to login to Plugin Registration Tool on my machine and boom he was able to see it.

This below is the old version he was using.

Used the PowerShell script in here https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customerengagement/on-premises/developer/download-tools-nuget to download the latest version to the devs machine and he was able to see the sandbox environment.
