GP2010 - FRX Report writer

ReportReport
Posted on by

Hi,

Currently I am creating a daily cash report by using smartlist and exporting it into excel and making adjustments (dates/hoildays/weekends etc) to get the daily cash balance.  I would like automate it in GP2010 or FRX reporter writer.  How would I be able to do this?

Thanks,

Nat

What SmartList are you exporting?  In FRx, you can use date restrictions in the column layout. You will have to maintain the column layout monthly, though, to get the dates right.

If you really want to daily cash report, I would create a report using SSRS that pulls data based on a configuration table that stores the date information.

If I were you, I would upgrade to GP 2013. Cash Flow Management is included in the Starter Pack, and will likely save you significant time and provide better functionality.

Harry, we have a client that is very interested in using Cash Flow Management and since it was included when they upgraded to GP2013 - and since they did not have / use it prior to that time - how would you recommend someone to get started ?

The client has been a GP user for over 8 years - so not rookies and not starting over.

    Suggestions?

    Bill,

The manual for Cash Flow Management is a good primer. There are also some good videos and blog posts on various sites. Here's a link:

As in most cases, I would suggest creating a test environment with a recent copy of the production database and have the client walk through some setup and use scenarios.

    Hi Bill,

My second book, Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 Financial Management has a chapter in on Cash Flow Management: www.amazon.com/.../ref=la_B00EHKDGVE_1_2;ie=UTF8&qid=1428687700&sr=1-2
