Subscription Billing Date Confusion

We are in the process of "backfilling" data from our old system into BC -this includes a LOT of subscription data.

I think I'm finding "buggy" behavior in the subscription module.

OK, I've got the following setup:

Here is a Subscription/Contract line (I have several just like this):

Every time I run a contract invoice or Billing Proposal and clear it, the billing period shrinks by 1 day, at first, it invoiced from 1/1/25 to 1/30/25, now, just 1/25/25:

OK, I opened one of the contracts individually and ran a contract invoice and it went from 1/1/25 to 1/31/25 as it should.  Now, I've deleted it and run a billing proposal with a few of them and this is the result.  The one I ran maually shows the correct date but the others are stuck on 1/1-1/25.

This is madness.

I can't just invoice random dates.

Consider discussing these issues in the Dynamics 365 Business Central Yammer Group. This platform is actively monitored by Microsoft technicians, and your feedback can contribute to potential improvements in future functionality."

OK, so it appears that for the monthly subscription items, if I do not include anything in the "Subscription Line End Date" field, they bill out properly with no miscalculation or proration.

However, I've had to delete "orphaned" Subscription Lines that have occurred for various reasons (mostly accidental subscription deletion while lines exist) and the only way to do this is a Configuration Package as far as I can tell.  Unfortunately, to remove lines, you've got to use the "Delete Table Records Before Processing" Boolean so on import of the "clean slate", the lines without dates in the "Subscription Line End Date" will throw errors and not import.  This is why I've taken to adding 12/31/2099 to my month-to-month subscriptions.  It would seem, however that having that end date causes the billing error.

So, catch 22 here.  What kind of error can you live with?  Hopefully a fix comes along.  Would appreciate anyone with access to the Yammer Group passing this along as well.

I'll try to not create anymore orphaned lines.

    Thanks.

All I ever get when I try to join:

No email ever comes to our spam filter or otherwise.  Frustrating.

I suggest you discuss these issues in the BC Yammer Group below so Microsoft technicians can see it and possibly improve the functionality.

    Thanks.

Confirmed, in order to get the correct billing date, I have to run "Create Contract Invoice" from the Contract, then delete what it makes and after that, dates render properly.

There has to be some hidden "bill to" info in there somewhere.

OK, so now I opened contract 84 and ran a contract invoice manually:

Now. it's from 1/1/25-1/24/25 for even less money.

Deleted that invoice, repeated the process and now it shows properly, 1/125-1/31/25 and full price:

And now, contracts 84 and 89 that I did the ridiculous manual invoice create 2 times show properly and the other is still only through the 24th.

Hard to run a business this way.
