Packing slip journal form

On the below form you can see that i append a Tab(Package Info) into the "Packing Slip Journal" form.

Why i come out this idea to do this test is because the packing slip journal doesn't have package information by default, by doing this the client can input the package information manually, and get it printed out on the packing slip journal report eventually.

I created a table with above six fields. on the form i configure the data source is editable, and the Grid is editable as well, but the data record is grayed out if i click the New button. not sure why ?

Note,

The first three columns data are took from the join table "CustPackingSlipJour".

    Hi jianrui,

This form shows the details of posted packing slips, so when you add a new data source and join it with the main data source of this form, the new data source will also become non-editable,

you can use passive join in this case and have write some code in executequery() and Datasource - initvalue() methods to achieve your objective.

Please validate the datasource of the grid.

datasource of the grid should be the new table

New button should also have the property set to create new record in new table.

may be you should consider overriding initvalue() method of the new table to populate the first three column. these three field should be from the new table and join table field is not required.

Please verify if this helps you.

this problem can be fixed by changing the property "ViewEditMode" of the Field element from "Auto" to "Edit"
