Certification Process for Dynamics Great Plains Add-on

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi Please someone let me know the process of certification of Dynamics add-on by Microsoft. I developed a add-on for Microsoft dynamics GP, I want to certified it with Microsoft.  Please let me know process, time and cost required for certification.

I want to clarify a few misconceptions and misunderstandings above. There IS a certification process for Microsoft Dynamics GP third party products and add-ons. The Certified for Microsoft Dynamics GP (CfMD) program has been around for quite some time and I discussed it with the then Manager, Brian Graftaas. You can find the full interview with the in and outs of the program on my YouTube channel:

    Sandip,

I can see your frustration at not having a formal framework to work within. It can also have its advantages as certification and developer programme membership can be costly for the other MS and competitor products.

Well if there is no coding standard nor a certification scheme or best practice document, I can't see how "they" can then come back saying its not up to the non-existent standard. Who would they say this to anyway- customer opening support cases with MS might be the only example I could think of, but they must be used to the big ISV community surrounding GP by now?

I understand your caution, but you may have to overcome your caution in this case. You will always be responsible, its one of the burdens of most business -goal posts can always change and there are always risks.

Would be nice to get some more views on this thread.

    Tim.

    Friends,

No luck on this yet.  I don't see any link or option where we can put Add on approval.  I have contacted SAP and they are on the spot immediately guided whole process and get approval also But Microsoft no reply yet. I have email everywhere.

what will happened we have started selling product and later Microsoft says application is not as per their norms and rules? Who will be responsible for time and money we have spend.

    Anyone who can guide us?

    Thanks much

    Hi all

I know I could look it up, but I'm being lazy today. Does anyone know what it takes to just sign up as a non-selling ISV? Twenty-three years ago, you just needed to be alive that day. We, however, did have to pay for the software back then. I don't remember the price, but I know I could get a set number of modules for 50 bucks each, or something like that. Tools authorization took another $1,500, and we had to pay $1,500 for integration manager and also had to pay for Continuum. Before Microsoft bought GP the 'annual partner fee' was $5,000 - 6,000 per year - even if you were not a reseller.

    Amit,

I think you may be referring to the old 'Certified for Microsoft Dynamics' designation of old. I couldn't find any current information about this program and all of the links are dead, so it's probably not there anymore. In any event, I found the requirements and have pasted them below. One thing that's clear from this is that Microsoft needs a proofreader.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
