After following Lucas's instructions, the Security Mode you'll want to select is Disable Window. That will make the window 'read only' to whomever you assign the security code.

You have to read a little about field level security to do this task.

Goto >> tools>> setup>> systems and open field level security window.

Click Add button give you security a name and select product 'Analytical Accounting'.

find your window and double click it, from there you get to select sub window, and the fields and press okey will return you to main window , apply any option like lock , hide etc.

    Hello Georges,

To start out, I wanted to ensure I was understanding the current situation that the user is in.  Does the user in question have the ability to open the Transaction Dimension Code Maintenance window at all at this time?

If not, you would first need to either create a custom Security Task providing access to the Transaction Dimension Code option and then add that to one of the current Security Roles that the user has marked for them under User Security.

If the user can already open this window, you can then move forward with the suggestion Almas made, and set up Field Level Security on the Transaction Dimension Code Maintenance window.  From the Field Security Maintenance window, you can find the Transaction Dimension Code Maintenance option by expanding the Microsoft Dynamcis GP folder, then the Analytical Accounting folder.  From here, expand the Company folder and find the Transaction Dimension Code Maintenance option.  This should allow you to work with the fields on the window and add locks to the window.

I don't think that I have ever seen anyone try and do this though, so I cannot say for sure if you will be able to get this to work exactly how you would like it to.  With all of that said, I think that a better option would be to setup the SmartLists for Analytical Accounting, and keep the user from being able to drill back on the codes by ensuring that they cannot open the Transaction Dimension Code Maintenance window.  There is an AA Trx Dimension Code SmartList option under the AA default SmartLists that displays Transaction Dimensions and their associated Codes, and this would display the same information as the Transaction Dimension Code Maintenance window.

You can enable the AA SmartList reports by going to Microsoft Dynamics GP | Tools | Setup | Company | Analytical Accounting | Options.  Click the SmartList Integration button and select the SmartList options you would like to deploy from the SmartList Integration window, then click Process.  This will place an Analytical Accounting folder in the SmartList window with the options you selected available under it.

Let me know if that helps!

    Thanks,

Try field level security. currently I don't have AA installed so can not do it at my end but I think it can make fields un-editable/lock.
