I attended SQL Saturday in Wausau, WI, and one of the sessions was an exploration of the new SQL Server 2016 feature, Temporal Tables. It was very interesting to me as an audit method for Dynamics GP, and as a way to avoid using triggers.
I could see setting up a test environment and using a SQL script to alter the structures of all GP tables to take advantage of the capabilities of Temporal Tables. The MCSA who gave the presentation, the very knowledgeable and charming Ameena Lalani, emphasized that the change in table structure would not affect applications at all. I found that very interesting.
Anyone looked at Temporal Tables in other applications besides GP? What do you think?
