Is there a limit on number of entities you can expose in Field Service Mobile app for D365 Field Service?

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I remember that previous versions of Field Service Mobile (Resco) app allowed only up to 10 entities to be exposed in the app? Does this limit still apply with the current release of D365 Field Service? We have a couple of custom entities we need to make available in the mobile app which may result in the total number of entities (including the standard ones) to exceed 10.

Thank you.

As per the D365 Enterprise Edition Licensing guide (page 12):

This User SL also includes the Field Service Mobile Application, a Microsoft application that is specifically designed for Dynamics 365 for Field Service, distinct from the Dynamics CRM Mobile Client Application. This application is technically limited to only Field Service entities and a maximum of 10 custom entities. At this point, we need only one custom entity to be made available on FS mobile. So, we are good :-)

the question is not who supports the application, the question is about the limitation, and since the field service application is actually a Resco application the limitation documentation should be available from Resco :)

That is not correct. Field Service Mobile app is *not* supported by Resco. It is supported by Microsoft.

I think this is more a Resco question and not a Microsoft question.

Not really, this is a community forum.  MS responses are few and far in between.  If you want an official answer, best way is to open a ticket with MS.

Thank you Thomas. However, I would appreciate if someone from Microsoft responds to this question because this would be a common requirement.

Since this forum is for Microsoft products, I am assuming that Microsoft monitors and contributes to/supports this forum. Thank you.

I believe that it is still 10. But you should be able to test this yourself in a DEV environment.

I did hear however that if you contact Microsoft you can increase the threshold by paying for more resco licenses. I saw this information in a training video, so it might be worth contacting Microsoft to see if they can do it or not.
