Dynamics 365 Connector (deprecated) when it is going to be retired

Posted on by 5

Hi All

We are using Dynamics 365 connector in logic apps . This connector when it will be retired means .

1. Dynamics 365  (deprecated) when is the last date for retired (means Stop working)

2.  Microsoft Dataverse (legacy) when is the expiration date.

3.  Microsoft Dataverse  when it will interduce in Logic apps.

Now if am using Dynamics 365 (Deprecated) . Now we would like to convert to Microsoft Datavers (Legacy) .  This connector how much time supported.

As Per the documentation this is also going to deprecated soon.

If  i am using Microsoft Datavers (Legecy) same properties will be reflected in Microsoft Datavers ? We can replace directly ?

When it will be expected new Connector for Logic App

Thank you

RE: Dynamics 365 Connector (deprecated) when it is going to be retired

    Hello VenuAzure,

    1. As per below public facing documentation, there is no date of deactivation:

Important changes (deprecations) coming in Power Apps, Power Automate and customer engagement apps - Power Platform | Microsoft Docs

This means that specific dates of expiration are still to be announced.

"Deprecated" means we intend to remove the feature or capability from a future major release. The feature or capability will continue to work and is fully supported until it is officially removed. This deprecation notification can span a few months or years. After removal, the feature or capability no longer work. Thisn'tice is to allow you sufficient time to plan and update your code before the feature or capability is removed.

2 & 3. Same applies on these 2 points, there are still no announcements on details in this regard. As per the same documentation:

Rather than use the Dynamics 365 connector, the Microsoft Dataverse connector should be your first choice if you can use it. You may not be able to use the Microsoft Dataverse connector in every situation today because of the following limitations:

    • It isn't available in Logic Apps.
    • It doesn't enable cross-tenant or cross environment connections.
    • It cannot be used for canvas apps that use the Power Apps for Windows client.

If you cannot use the Microsoft Dataverse connector, you should use the Microsoft Dataverse (legacy). This connector has all the capabilities of the Dynamics 365 connector, and includes several improvements that increase reliability.

I would suggest to keep monitoring the documentation for additional announcements on this topic.
