I realize there are other methods other that the Migrate Business data available to import data into Dynamics 365 Business Central. My questions are specifically on the Migrate Business data using the built in extension for Microsoft Dynamics GP. I exported the GL Accounts, Customer, Vendors and Items from Dynamics GP2018 into one CSV file. I used the import function as described above. I received two errors and I was not able to drill back on those errors, and none of the Inventory items came in. (Accounts, Customers and Vendors seem to come in just fine) I started troubleshooting by exporting the data from GP individually, so I made a separate file for Accounts, Customer, Vendors and Inventory. I did this thinking I would be able to determine which dataset was giving me the errors. I re-imported the Accounts to find that the error there was due to the fact that the second segment in Dynamics GP was named location and that is a reserved word in D365. The show errors button appeared since this time which allowed me to determine the problem. I changed the name of the 2nd segment in Dynamics GP to Locations and created a new export file and re-imported the accounts with no errors. I then went to import the Inventory items, and I was not able to do so due to the fact that the GL account check box is checked with no records to import and the overall status of Migrate Business Data is set to completed. When I click on it, it tells me that this has been completed and do you want to run it again, I say yes and choose the file to import and and click the migrate button and it tells me that Transactions have already been entered for G/L Account In order to use the Wizard unmark G/L Account, well I cannot uncheck or check any of the 4 boxes (GL, Customer, Vendor or Inventory). I made sure I am a super user. My questions is how to I uncheck/check these boxes and can I change the status to the migrate Business Data to Not Completed. It almost seems like I am going to have to create another new company to get around this. I hope that is not the case.
Thanks,
Joe
