Issues with loading templates on other computers

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I am the power user for GP and I have modified some Word Templates.  After loading them onto my computer and assigning them as the default version, my IT department loaded the forms onto all the other computers.  My issue is that when they print the form, it does not look like what I have on mine.

I have verified that they all have security access to the Modified Forms.  Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

Thanks,

Jenn

    Hi,

The modification you made to add the Contact Name started in Report Writer. So, when you print the standard report, the Contact Name prints. When the other workstations print the Standard report, does the Contact Name print?

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

The difference is with the Word Template document.  For example, Customer Service requested that we add the contact name to the shipping address on the Sales Invoice.  It shows when I print it on my computer, but not on anyone else's.

    Hi,

The Word Template itself is stored in the database. The modified report could be stored in a shared file location or it can be stored on each workstation. The Word Template is one thing and the modified report from which it came is a different thing. If each workstation prints the modified report (the standard, not the template), do they look the same? Are you seeing a layout difference or a data difference?

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
