SL 2011 Web Apps and IE Emulation Mode issues

We are hobbling along with SL web apps... still having numerous errors.

The biggest issue is that in order to use Time Entry/Settings or Theme screens (to name a few) within Internet Explorer, we have to repeatedly set the Emulation mode to Edge.  Is there a hotfix for this?  How can we best permanently work around this problem?

For now, I have users using Safari, Firefox and Chrome to enter time.  IE is just too much of a hassle.

Thanks.

Katie

I had an end user today say to me "What do you mean this is easiest in Chrome or Firefox?  We are a Microsoft shop.  I do not have other browsers installed."

I am still struggling with this issue.  Are their any other suggestions anyone can offer other than telling end users to use non-Microsoft products?

In IE, has the website been added to the Compatibility View Settings on the desktop of each user?  Which version of IE are they running?

Don't know if you've solved this yet or not, but we just got WebApps up and running in our test environment and have noticed the exact same problem.

To kick IE into Edge mode by default, go to the Tools menu, select Compatibility View Settings, and disable the "Display intranet sites in Compatibility View". Also make sure that no addresses or domains related to your WebApps server are in the listbox. Restart IE and things should be running properly.

Unfortunately for us (and maybe you as well), one of our other intranet tools needs Compatibility View enabled. We're going to try to explicitly define it in the listbox like I mentioned, but sometimes these things don't work as desired.

    Hope this helped!
