Closing Opportunities as Won Workflow with Closing Date

Hello Everyone,

Tried searching but couldn't seem to find any guidance on this issue I'm having.

I've imported a little over a hundred opportunities for a user via a data map but for some reason setting the Status to Won doesn't seem to work.  So I've imported them all into CRM in Open status and put the correct Closing Date into the Data Map.

I want to use a workflow to update the Status to Won without having to go through each Opportunity one by one.  The issue I'm running into is that when running a workflow to update the Status it also updates the Closing Date to todays date.  Obviously that's not ideal for our reporting.

Is there a way to use a workflow to update the Status to Won while also keeping the Closing Date that is currently in CRM?  Or at least a way to close the opp as Won and have the workflow update the Closing Date to the one that is in the system?

Thank you!

    Hello,

You can use following toolkit for your task - github.com/.../v1.2.0.0 with step "Opportunity: Close as Won"

    Hi Andrew,

Thank you for the suggestion and the toolkit!

I'm a little lost on setting the workflow to accomplish what I'm trying to do.  I imported the solution and tried to use the Close as Won step, but not sure hot to set up the workflow to run on multiple opportunities and use the current close date on them.

It looks like I have to select an opportunity in order to get the workflow to save.

Still a bit naïve on some of the finer details of CRM so my apologies on not picking it up right away.

    Thanks!

That's correct, use "Close as Won" step. Create a new workflow for Opportunity entity with "On-Demand" option selected without other triggering options (like create, update, e.t.c.).

Check screenshot that demonstrates how you can configure custom step available:

Once workflow is ready - publish it. After that build a query against you want to run workflow using Advanced Find and run workflow against records you want.
