I have deployed new VM's where we moved from GIT to TFS, so I have moved all the customized models to new dev server and build server.

Issue is when I'm trying to access Extension classes, I'm not able to open it. Getting :

Object reference not set to an instance of an object

All the other classes are working fine, there is no build errors and sync success.

And yes, I'm able to view and access metadata for same classes in file explorer.

Tried by repairing and reinstalling the VS and all the extensions are up to date.

Hi Theja,

Have you opened Visual Studio with the 'Run as administrator' option?

Hi Theja Pachipala,

Check whether its opening standard extension class without this error.

Also Just add your extension class to project - Right click the class and try opening with xml editor. Check whether its opening in xml.

Yes standard class is working fine and I'm able to view the code. Tried by adding to Project and by building, there is no errors. Still not able to access extension class.

Hi Theja,

Can you please check if you can take latest of the code? And build and then build and sync? If not stop all the related services like Management reporting services, Batch and DIXF, IIS, www. Then try get latest build and sync.

Please let me know if these are possible. Also check the log in even viewer.

Thanks for the suggestion, Bharani.

Yes, I do replace the standard and extension class from the environment which is working fine.

Before that stopped all the services mentioned above, once copied the classes, restarted the services and started VS as admin, refreshed the models and started building for customized models, no errors. And sync the database no errors.

Still not able to access extension classes, and another all classes I'm able to access like event handlers, DP, contracts, controllers.

What is the version where you have taken all this models?

Is the extension classed opening on the environment where you have taken the models from?

Version .21 and both build, and dev server is in same versions. Yes, extensions are working fine in build server.

You might want to confirm that your model does not have any broken reference.

Try to update the model parameters and see if any error pops up.
