Hi there,

Is there a way of Sharing Notes within an entity?

For example going into a Contact record and entering a note on that record, and then wanting to share this note with another user, but not the Contact?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

    There is no way to share notes in crm with other user using OOB.  You should be able to share note by writing custom workflow/plugin/javascript but even it will not work without having permission to parent of the Note.

    Without having access to contact i don't think it makes sense providing access to just notes.

    Thank you for your response, it confirms what I thought was true :)

    The only thing that has me slightly baffled still is the security roles show an option for sharing notes as a permission setting, any idea what this would be used for?

    For sure this option exists to share note with other users/teams.  For example if note privilege set user level then user can read notes entered by user only. In some cases organization may have requirement based on some condition to share this notes with other user in organization in those cases you can write custom code to share note with other users.
