RMS Labels printing random extra characters

Hello,

This is a strange issue. We just replaced one of our computer that's hooked up to a zebra 2746e label printer. As before we have a custom label template setup to print and the printer itself uses just a generic text driver. this has been working good for years. Now however when its printing labels they all print and are lined up correctly but some labels are receiving random characters added on. For example some labels will add an extra letter to the description turning from Bar to Barf. some labels will add extra numbers to the price so 9.50 becomes 9.5088. It varies for labels as well some are fine, some have extra numbers, some have extra letter, but its not the same for all of them. Both the old computer and the new computer were runnign the same software and both are windows 7. the only difference is the new one is 64-bit.

Does anyone have any suggestions with this type of issue?

    the old computer we just replaced was a 32-bit computer. that was the only real difference between these 2. it worked there, so i'm not sure if this older zebra does not like the 64-bit version of the generic text driver and thus i'm hooped, or what.

    Try reinstalling the Generic Text-only driver and answer Yes to replace driver when prompted.

    If problem persists, can you test same setup on a 32 bit PC?

    What type of connection? USB, serial, or parallel?
