Hello,

As shown in the attached screenshot, the AX log database has grown significantly, even larger than the main database.

Is it safe to perform a shrink db from SQL to reduce the log file size?
For your information, the database and AOS are installed on separate servers.

Alternatively, is it possible to move the AX_log file to another drive?

Also, should the “Enable Autogrowth” option be enabled for the AX_log in the database properties?

AX Log DB Size Issue

Hi Jefri,

The shrink job will not directly srhink the log file. To make that happen, you need to create a backup of the database. In case this is a production or sandbox environment, a daily backup should be scheduled to have this database log file cleaned up. If this is scheduled, then check if there is sufficient disk space to create the backup file. If the backup fails, the database log will not be cleaned and will continue to grow,

If this is a development environment, you can change the database recovery settings to simple. It will then not use the database log files, but will directly write all changes in the database itself.
