Rate recalculation in Recurring journal

Hi all,
I have a customer who is working with recurring journals in foreign currency. When they post the journal, the new rate is not created yet in the system, so the new lines for the following month are created based on the valid rate by that time.

So far, it seems logical, the issue is that there is no way of recalculating the lines when the new rate is created.

For recalculating, the user needs to change the date of the line or the amount, as you would do it with any lines, so BC can recalculate. Obviously, this makes no sense since it's a recurring journal and they would have to update each line.

Have you faced this issue?

Thanks!

I think recurring journals and foreign currencies don’t work well together. Your main options, as you mentioned, are to update each line so the new exchange rate is applied or a customization that adds an action button on the journal to update the exchange rate for all lines at once.

Alternatively, depending on the functionality you use in recurring journals, you could use the standard journal feature in the general journal instead. This way, when the standard journal lines are brought over, the exchange rate will be updated automatically.
