Sales Orders - inventory allocation question

(0) ShareShare

Hello,

I'm looking for documentation or tips on inventory allocation.  It seems SL doesn't always allocate inventory quantity to the first sales ordered entered.

We are using the same customer, the default priority of 5 is used with all orders.  The priority time seems to be ascending correctly in SOSched.  However, the system will release inventory to the later orders first in many cases.   Does it not process sequentially in order number range if the priority time is within the same minute?

Thanks,

Adam

    Adam,

Thank you for posting on the forum today. Something to look at is the CPS setting in INSetup. If CPS is turned ON in IN Setup, then the priority setting on the customer will determine the order of the shipments. If CPS is turned OFF, then it will be on a first come-first served basis.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Carolyn,

CPS is indeed turned off.  The switch is actually disabled and displays the OFF position but cannot be edited.  Is there any type of log file we can look back into for details on specific orders and shippers?  We have the shipper creation log file viewer but the entries get removed as the shippers are created.

    Thank You,

    Adam
