Cannot Update PO Line with Web Services?

This is semi-related to my earlier question today. I wanted to test the creation of a Purchase Order and then a small update to its one line item.

The PO gets created just fine, however, the update fails with a primary key violation. Should not the UpdatePurchaseOrder() method handle that for me? 

Version is GP 2016.

    Microsoft support has informed me you have to retrieve the PO first, then you can update it.
