Calculated field for decimal point number type

Posted on by 30

Hi

I created a calculated field and I want to set its condition for checking 2 fields with decimal point number type.

But I don't see them in the Field section because of their type.

Is there any way for me to do that without changing their type to something else?

Thanks a lot.

    Hi Parinaz,

Floating point numbers cannot be used in calculated fields, which is by-design.

So you can try to use workflow or plugin to replace calculated field as I suggested above.

And the address entity really doesn't recommend much customization, maybe you can create a custom address entity, which may make your operation more easier.

    Thanks for the answer.

actually, I want to create a calculated field that uses Latitude and Longitude fields (which are in Address Entity)

    to create a link.

I want to set the condition as:

    If Latitude Contains data

    And Longitude Contains data

    then .....

But I don't see them and I know that I shouldn't change Address Entity fields as much as possible.

    Regards.

    Hi Parinaz,

Floating point numbers cannot be used in calculated fields.

And you don’t want to create new fields with other type to copy original value with flow or plugin.

So you can directly build custom logic using plugin or workflow instead of calculated field.

If possible, can you provide logic in calculated field to make me help you easier.
