Hullo,
Am currently supporting Navision Attain 3.6 but working on upgrading it to Dynamics Nav 2016 at the beginning of the year. Can I run this version on SQL Server 2005 or 2008 to take advantage of the resources that my server has?
Thank you.

Are you referring to 2016 and checking if that can be run on SQL 2005/2008, if so No the minimum requirement version recommended is SQL Server 2012, please check the below link for the requirements
msdn.microsoft.com/.../dd301054(v=nav.90).aspx
that won't work. for nav 2016 you need at least sql server 2012.
to upgrade navision to nav 2016 follow msdn.microsoft.com/.../dn271649(v=nav.90).aspx

Hey Suresh,
I want to know if Navision Attain 3.6 can run or used with SQL Server 2005 or 2008. Its currently running on Windows 2000 but doesn't use all resources my server has like the RAM.
Regards
Dennis
Hi Mahesh,
I might Navision Attain 3.6 before I do the upgrade.
Best
hi,
no, only SQL 2000.
"The ONLY Navision version currently supported on SQL Server 2005 is 4.0 Service Pack 1"
.. i confirm this : you need NAV 4.0 SP1 to use Session Table on SQL 2005, Navision 3.60 and 3.70 run only oin SQL 2000.
look on Mibuso, nice posts about this issue.
