Is there a trial version of Microsoft Dynamics 365 that will let me to install SSRS reporting extension?

    The SSRS Reporting Extension requires Visual Studio with SQL Server Reporting Services Visual Studio Add-In Installed.

    You can get a Trial Instance of D365 at https://dynamics.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics-365-free-trial/

    To Create SSRS Reports you need the following:

    1. Visual Studio 2015, 2017, or 2019
    2. SQL Server Reporting Services Visual Studio Add-In: https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=ProBITools.MicrosoftReportProjectsforVisualStudio
      1. If using VS 2019 or 2017, the VSIX should be fine.
      2. If using VS 2015 you may need to download SSDT.
    3. Download & Install D365 Report Authoring Extension from here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customerengagement/on-premises/analytics/install-dynamics-365-report-authoring-extension?view=op-9-1

    SSRS Report Builder in Visual Studio Yes -- provided you Download & Install D365 Report Authoring Extension from here: docs.microsoft.com/.../install-dynamics-365-report-authoring-extension

    You will need to use the CRM Data Source Connector in the D365 Report Authoring Extension, and use Fetch XML to build the data sets.

    You must have Visual Studio with SSDT/Reporting Add-In + D365 Report Authoring Extension to create D365 SSRS Reports.

    The Stand Alone Report Builder Product is not compatible and is not on the list of Tools Supported for D365 Report Authoring Extension as detailed here https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=45013

    Also I tried installing the extension but but I had an error saying that I need to install Dynamics Server. Installing the server also gave an error:

    Which Visual Studio Version are you running?

    If you are running a different version of Visual Studio, the procedure is completely different. 

    Again, which Visual Studio Version are you running so I can provide the correct procedure?

    Your installer may have difficulties finding the "C:\Temp\Update\Bids_KB4010816_I386_1033.msp" file.

    Try running the .exe installer file from the same folder "C:\Temp\Update".
