Warehouse management without license plate

To me license plate sounds good where physical pallets are used for moving and storing inventory. But for items which are kept on shelf, license plate does not fit. Can i maintain 2 separate categories of Items, one with license plate and another without license plate? Can I handle both of them using warehouse mobile app?

yes of course the license plate tracking option can be set on location profiles that are consequently set on locations.

Hi Som9002,

I have found the following thread, please have a look.

"There are ways to do this in the new module.

One way to accomplish this would be to use auto-generated LP numbers (an RF menu item config) but make you final Put location be to a non-LP location. This means that when the users executes the Work and puts the inventory away, the LP will disappear from the inventory. You can then do your movement as you do today (via full screen or RF) and move that inventory to a new LP controlled location and assign the final LP."

Hi Som9002,

The license plate storage dimension is mandatory for the warehouse management features and the mobile app. Like mentioned above, you can use auto generated license plates. In some implementations, we made a small customization to re-use empty license plates.

Hi Som9002,

license plate is mandatory if you enable WMS for item in storage dimension group. However, if the location (set up is in location profile) is not enabled for license plates, you don't need to enter license plate during processing the transactions.
