Given it's custom, most probable root cause is wrong data fetching. I see that it's a display method which should fetch data from batch number table (3rd screenshot).
Here is how you should use the fetch mechanism:
1. Query on the basis of not just batch number OR item number but combination of "batch number and item number"
Incase above hint doesn't help you, please share the logic behind the expiration data field (screenshot 1).
