Job Planning Lines integration with Service Order

Hi

Is anyone familiar with the process integration between Jobs and Service Order?

If I have a Job card defined with the following Planning Lines, I could use this Budget to post a GL journal to accrue expenses.

An example is to add an Item to the planning line that will be used in the Service Order

I have a Service Order and in the Order Lines, I add this item:

I tried to create warehouse shipment and invoice the service line but couldn't.

I ended up consuming the item quantity (Ship and Consume posting).  This added qty=2 to my Job Planning Line (linked in the Service Order).

Then I invoiced from Job Planning Line, and this further added qty=2, making the final job planning line quantity = 4.

Why does the Job Planning Line add the extra quantity when the quantity consumed is passed from the Service Order Line?

Thanks for any further comments or suggestions..

Business case: to accrue for a project (item) cost that can be consumed in a service order (fault servicing) which will be billed at the end of the service.

Service Management does not have cost accruals, so I've contemplated using the Jobs module in combination.

I would look at a product in this instance: www.to-increase.com/.../profitable-service-management

This one has the two modules combined plus more to boost service mgt.
