Is the AL VScode extension an SDK?

Posted on by 479

Title. It is my first time hearing the term/abbreviation "SDK", so I am wondering if the AL extension is an SDK on its own? I just want to learn proper terminology when it comes to mentioning "SDK".

Thanks!

It’s not a term used as much. If you have all layers I’d say it’s vs code, AL extension for vs code (plus some others imo), AL symbols downloaded from a database i.e. the source code. Git and either GitHub or Azure DevOps would be a pro DEVs further inclusions.

This is probably why sdk isn’t used as a regular term - it’s not a single download and package
