Duplicate Detection Rule not saving

I have a lot of duplicate "To-Do" activity types in my environment and so I am want to create a duplicate detection rule. However, when doing this I keep getting an error that says:

How can I fix this?

Hello,

The message is related with the length of the matchcode created based on your criteria. It's exceeding the limit:

When you create a duplicate detection rule, a matchcode is created for every record in the matching record type for that rule.
