My organization utilizes Peoplesoft for its financials and HR. Our execution is on Oracle databases. Setting global_names = TRUE powers you to name your database connect the same as the objective. My inquiry is does anybody know the repercussion of setting global_names to false in the init.ora parameter record?

All the more particularly, I need one of our surroundings (global_names = valid) to have a database connect called PRODLINK and it will point to a generation HR database. Another condition (where global_names = false) will likewise have a connection called PRODLINK however it will point to a non-generation database. To additionally convolute it, one database condition is at Oracle 9.2 while the other is at Oracle 10.2

I have hunt down a response for this yet can't discover one. Much appreciated ahead of time for your any assistance/counsel you can present.

Thanks in advance,

johny.
