Markdown updates unit price

When I use the Markdown function, the new adjusted unit price and extended price displays correctly within the sales markdown entry screen.

However, the Line item screen does not update and still displays the original unit price. The result for example is 1 item with a unit price of $2.90 (original price) equals $2.80 extended price. Is this by design and means that in order to print a correct order and invoice, "adjusted unit price" should be substituted for "Unit price"?
