Creating a Quick Query doesn't allow a filter to be applied

I am trying to add a filter to a new quick query - in the demos I have seen this is possible. However the filter button is not firing when I click on it. Is there a permission I am missing - note I am logged in with administration rights.

Has anyone else encountered this and found a way to resolve?

    There was an issue at one time that required you to be in as SYSADMIN, I that was regardless of rights.  There was a patch issued for it, don't remember if it was in CU2 or not, but might be worth looking for that issue specifically.

    I cant see anything in the current hotfixes for this issue.

    Yes I have encountered this issue but only a new Filtered Queries that were saved without filters. Solution I found has 3 steps.

    Step 1: Open the Base Query first. This will allow the you to switch to any Filtered Query generated from the Base Query.

    Step 2: Switch to a Filtered Query that has filters and these filters can be modified (pretty much any other Filtered Query in the drop down list).

    Step 3: Switch to the Filtered Query that is having the issues. You can now add filters to this Filtered Query.
