Is it possible to run a batch to remove all reservation from sales orders on a single legal entity

Is is possible to have a legal entity not reserve the inventory automatically

found a parameter under ar parameter which can be turned to automatic or manual, found another one under inventory model groups. I believe they impact all legal entities and it is not per legal entity setup

Hope someone can provide some guidance

Which D365 product are you using? The D365 brand covers quite a few things, such as Finance and Operations, Business Central or Customer Engagement.

Hi, Reservation is a topic in itself.

This response is to answer your questions, but barely scratches the surface

Item Model Group are Legal Entity specific so you can configure with the reservation policy that the company prefers. Item Model Group are assigned to items so you can have different reservation policies for certain groups of items.

The AR parameter is a default parameter that is used; it is the "Default" option on the Item Model Group.

You can definitely have a Legal Entity not reserve automatically (my preference in most projects)

There is no batch to remove reservations directly. Indirectly, there is a batch job to change inventory status, which depending on a setup on Warehouses master record, could remove reservations and marking.

Removing Reservations via Batch Job
You can use the Inventory Status Change Job to remove reservations across sales orders:

How it works:
Change the inventory status of items (e.g., to “Count” or “Unrestricted”) using the job.
This clears existing reservations and markings tied to those items.

Steps:
1. Go to Inventory management > Periodic tasks > Inventory status change.
2. Filter by item, warehouse, or sales order criteria.
3. Run the job in batch mode for the target legal entity.
Note: This affects reservations at the transaction level, not configuration setting

Item Model Groups: You must create separate Item Model Groups (one for "automatic reservation" and one for "manual reservation").

Item Assignment: Assign the correct Model Group to the items within the specific Legal Entity.

Regarding removing all reservations via a batch job:

There is no standard batch job to remove all reservations from sales orders across a legal entity.

The standard process is usually to un-reserve manually or to write a custom X++ job that targets all sales lines in that legal entity and runs the un-reservation logic.

I recommend focusing on the Item Model Group setup first, as that is the standard way to control this behavior per legal entity.
