Debtor ID security

Good afternoon.

i have a customer who wants to put security onto their debtors book. Basically they want to limit each controller to only be able to see their debtors, so controller 1 can see debtors A-E, controller 2 debtors F-L etc from the debtor ID lookup on debtor maintenance.

I have looked on solution finder, isv-central, and a few other dynamics isv sites to see if there is anything like this that has been developed.

Does anybody know of something like this that has been done before? or if it's somethign we're going to have to investigate via VBA or Dexterity.

    Sorry Ian, one question. did you do your development using Dexterity ?

    That's pretty much along the lines of what we want to do, so it's good to know that we're not completely alone.

    We have developed a similar modification for Inventory Items. In this case, there was a list maintained of every user along with the items they could use. Therefore an item could be seen by many users or just one depending on whose list it was on. Additionally there was the ability to bulk add items to a list based on the Item Class ID.

    You could probably develop something like this easily enough? I'm not aware of any ISV solution - but I bet I'll be proven wrong!!
