Delete Free text invoice templates

Hi all,

I would like to make some housework in our Free Text Invoices Template, because some ar not used anymore and will never be again.

But whatever I try, I always have the same error message :

Free text invoice template cannot be deleted while dependent Customer invoice recurrence setup exist. Delete dependent Customer invoice recurrence setup and try again.

I already tried :

- generate all stand by-ing invoices, just to put the next date to today

- inactivate the template on every linked customer sheets

- delete the template lines

- finally try to delete the template header.

So did I miss something ? Or could you confirm me that after an invoice have been generated and posted, it would be impossible to delete a template ?

    The CustInvoiceTemplate table, from which you are trying to delete, has a Restricted Delete action on the CustRecurrenceInvoice table, preventing your free text invoice template to be removed.

    First you need to get rid of the Customer invoice recurrence setup entry in that table that is linked to your free text invoice template as the error message clearly states, after which you could delete it just fine.

    Those are defined on your customers as recurring invoices, so you need to get rid of those first.

    Hi Vilmos,

    Thanks a lot for your answer.

    Actually, I first tried to delete the set up template from the Customer Sheet. The message is : "You cannot delete this setup because recurring invoices have been generated using this setup.".

    I think your solution is OK if no invoice have ever been generated and posted based on that template.

    I'm wrong ?

    I am unsure about what you tried to delete, was it the record linked to the table I mentioned above?

    I have not checked the tables' restrictions whether it is blocked by posted invoices or not, but you may easily verify that with a developer.
