some custom SLB smarlists not working

Have a client with 30-40 custom Smartlist Builder smarlists which use custom SQL views. Client has been using most for 2+ years.  SQL views are given 'select' permission for DYNGRP.  In SLB, I give security to the view.  And GP users have security to run SLB objects with SQL tables/views.  As I have said -- the custom smartlists have been used weekly for 2+ years.

But today, GP users and 'sa' user get no results when 10+ of the custom smartlists are run.  Via SQL -- I get results.  Any ideas on what has happened?

Any response will be appreciated.

Thanks,

John Born

    John,

I would not be happy either.  Based on your test with creating a new SmartList, it seems that the SmartLists that are not working were changed/damaged somehow.  For what it's worth, I have not heard of this happening before "on its own".  Are you positive no changes were made?  Nothing new was installed?  What version and build of GP are you on?  Is there anything about the SmartLists that got broken that is different from the ones that are still working?

I created a new smartlist using one of the SQL views.  When I run it I can see data.  If the only solution is to recreate the smartlists -- i can do it but not happy.

    John,

If 'sa' is not seeing any data, that would indicate it's not a SQL permissions issue.  Can you confirm that in SmartList Builder's SQL Table Security the views needed for the 'problem' SmartLists are still selected?

If so, as a test, can you create a new SmartList and point it to one of the SQL views that is used in one of the SmartLists having the problem?  Can 'sa' and other users see the data in this new SmartList?
