I am getting an error message in all of my workflows that says: "A SQL Server error occurred. Try this action again. If the problem continues, check the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Community for solutions or contact your organization's Microsoft Dynamics CRM Administrator. Finally, you can contact Microsoft Support."

Workflow suspended temporarily due to error: Unhandled Exception: System.ServiceModel.FaultException`1[[Microsoft.Xrm.Sdk.OrganizationServiceFault, Microsoft.Xrm.Sdk, Version=8.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35]]: Generic SQL error.Detail:

I ended up restarting the server, that seemed to work for the most part.  At times I still get the error, but waiting a few minutes and retrying the workflow or whatever the user is trying to do seems to work again.

Have you tried restarting async service?

You can use trace reader which will help you identify trace: archive.codeplex.com, you can look for red one specifically

What should I be looking for in the logs after I turn on trace?

    Hi,

This is a generic SQL error which can be related to different reasons, as you are using CRM on premise?, I will suggest you to enable tracing in your CRM server and SQL server and check for the log files, log files should give you some pointer what's wrong.

This tool should help you to enable tracing :archive.codeplex.com

You can also enable to manually : support.microsoft.com/.../how-to-enable-tracing-in-microsoft-dynamics-crm

This happens on Microsoft's end. Can you check your service health in Office365 is you're the Global admin?

Also, this should work fine in sometime.

    Just try another browser.

This happens at times but gets resolved once some background processes which are stuck get through.

    Hope this helps.
