Knowledge search - external provider - SharePoint - no page content returned

I have configured my D365 CS instance to use an external provider (SharePoint) for additional resources for Knowledge searches.

For document libraries, relevant search results are correctly returned within knowledge search (so long as search is configured on those libraries in SharePoint). All good.

However, within the same SharePoint site are relevant site pages which contain content. These pages are returned in searches in SharePoint at library, site and global levels. They don't appear in the search results within Dynamics.

My question is:

Should SharePoint as an external provider give page content as search results, or do I need to configure an Integrated Search Provider to point to our internal SharePoint site to be able to achieve this?

Hi,

Short answer, no it should not return pages.

Just ran a network trace in my developer toolbar. It looks like that search provider will only return documents and explicitly excludes pages (.aspx).

1. My test query

2. The Request in my Network tab, which contains the query with a AND NOT filetype:aspx filter

3. The setup Search provider I used for this repro
