GP 2010 Combined Statement

Posted on by 75,730

We have a need to print a group statement for our distributor. Each distributor has a number of customer underneath them. We use the salesperson ID field as the distributor ID. When we print the statement we want to see all the invoices for all customers for that distributor and the aging buckets to be a combined total with no page breaks between customers. Can this be done in RW or should I create something in SSRS?

We had to write separate statements using Crystal or SSRS to consolidate national accounts on to one statement.  The individual charges are still maintained per customer but the cash application is easier.

Sorry Richard, I misread your post the first time.  When I saw 'aging buckets' my mind skipped to the AR Aging report, not statements.  I knew Victoria could help :)

Thanks Victoria, I will give your script a look and tweak as necessary.

    Hi Richard,

I admit to being a little biased, but I would not do this in RW.  AR Statements are pretty straightforward to code in SQL and I would recommend going that route, especially if you're already using SRS for other reporting.  I have some code posted that you could use as a start: victoriayudin.com/.../sql-view-for-all-unapplied-receivables-transactions-in-dynamics-gp.  You would just need to add the salesperson and group by that on your report.  For the aging buckets, you can either add your own calculations (which would then not be dependent on running the aging routine in GP) or use the AGNGBUKT column in RM20101.

We tried using national accounts but it still prints each customer separately. Is there an option when you print the statements to not have it do that?

Richard, I know this doesn't help with your immediate reporting needs but this sounds like a perfect application for using National Accounts.  Setting the distributor up as the Parent account and the customers as children would likely provide the reporting you're looking for.  For your immediate needs, it sounds like it would be easier to create such a report in SSRS.  The toughest part will be coding the aging buckets.  RW uses a temp table for the aging reports.
