Hi,
For GP 9.0 we are using retrieveglobals.dll to connect to sql tables. Upon upgrading to GP 2010, I export and import the packages to GP2010. When I tried generating a report that uses retrieveglobals.dll the error "Compile error: User-defined type not defined" appears. How can I modify these reports with retrieveglobals.dll connection to work for GP2010?

There is no retrieveglobals on GP 2010. Actually 9.0 was the last version to use it. Please see KB936115 on how to use the new connection objects in 10.0 and above.
