Lead scoring - failed to load score

Hi,

In order to target the right audience at the right time, we're working with the lead scoring. However, when looking at our leads, we receive the following error message: 'Failed to load score. The lead has no contact assigned.'

Which makes sense, since we're only able to select contacts or accounts in the lead scoring model under Summary > Target.

However, when working with lead nurturing (and lead scoring), it is mainly about nurturing leads that aren't a contact yet. Have anyone encountered this "problem" and/or does anyone know a workaround to resolve this?

    Hi Daphne Tollenaar,

You can suggest this as an idea for Dynamics 365 here.

    Hi Adrian,

Thank you for your reply. I am aware that when working with Dynamics 365, you currently can only work with lead scoring when a lead is linked to a contact/account. However, when creating a new lead for example via a form, Dynamics doesn't automatically create an account/contact. But the objective of lead scoring is nurturing and scoring leads that aren't actively on your "radar". Tools like Marketo support this way of working to actually nurture and score leads instead of contacts.

    Hi Daphne Tollenaar,

Automatic lead scoring only works for leads that are associated with a contact or account. Scoring fails for leads that do not have a contact or account associated with them. In addition, segments in Dynamics 365 for Marketing can only include contacts, not leads or accounts, which means that you can only address marketing emails to contacts. When you create a lead manually, you must also associate it with a contact manually to enable lead scoring.

The solution is to assign a contact or account record to the lead.
